Exchange 2010 SP1 software can be used to update an existing Exchange 2010 installation and to perform new installation.

The SP1 software is supported on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit; Windows Server 2008; Windows Server 2008 Enterprise; Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise; Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard; Windows Vista 64-bit Editions Service Pack 1.

Although we waited long enough to get our hands on SP1, at the end, we were absoloutly disappointed on its results. Losing three Exchange servers all at once was the worst scenario I have ever experienced in my entire IT career. Luckily, those servers were part of the Test/DEV environment with no live prod users and the best part of it was that they were all virtual servers that were recovered in 30 minutes. So, in a nutshell and as they say; "Think twice, glue once". In this case, test 10 times, apply once. Because once it’s done, there is no going back.

Joseph, thank you for sharing your experience. Did you end up the same issue in all 3 servers, so that it can be validated?
